A check for $55,000 may ultimately cost Suge Knight’s girlfriend Toilin Kelly and Knight’s business partner Mark Blankenship their freedom.

According to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Kelly and Blankenship were indicted on July 28 for one felony count each of conspiracy to violate a court order, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and conspiracy to commit grand theft.

The two allegedly worked together to sell video of the deadly hit-and-run involving Suge Knight. Knight allegedly struck and killed 55-year-old Terry Carter in January 2015. His trial is scheduled to begin on January 8, 2018.

Despite the fact Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Ricardo Ocampo granted a protective order that prohibited the release of the video, which served as evidence in the case, Kelly and Blankenship eventually struck a deal with TMZ to sell the video.

After nearly a month of negotiating, Kelly allegedly settled on $55,000 for the video. It was uploaded on TMZ shortly after the sale.

Kelly is now scheduled to appear in court on September 19 for a bail review hearing. An arraignment date has yet to be set for Blankenship.

Both Kelly and Blankenship face up to three years in prison if convicted.
