There has been no shortage of fans and rappers alike outraged by the success
of groups like D4L and Dem Franchise Boyz. Los Angeles emcee Free
Speech and producer Ro Blvd. have taken it a step further releasing
a new album entitled Laffy Taffy Rots Your Teeth. The 10 track album “takes aim at industry minstrelsy.” You

Comedian Dave Chappelle recently visited Ohio’s
Central State University
to speak, during which he told the crowd that leaving his show was “one
of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.” He further clarified
that, “economically it makes no sense at all, it’s good to have a vision for
your life, but your moral conduct and your moral code should be priceless. You
should just have some values that you just hold, that you won’t sell at any
price.”
Some people don’t buy into Common’s revolutionary and conscious
image, claiming the Chi-town is nothing but a hypocrite who talks the talk but
wasn’t walk to walk (ie. endorsing Coca-Cola). Those people should be
coming back out the woodworks in no time as its now been announced that Common
will be appearing in an upcoming campaign for the Gap. That same Gap
that has been long accused of using sweatshops to manufacture their clothing…
