Black and Latino fans and caused some gang tension between rival crews in the Los Angeles area over the
seemingly racist accent used by Pharrell.B-Real of Cypress
Hill was asked to do Pharrell’s part and chorus instead.
Vato which will be the first single
of his eighth solo album and the video will feature B-Real as a Latino
gang member and Snoop as one of the O.G’s of L.A’s notoriously tougher areas.
Oscar nominated actor Edward James Olmos will also appear in the video
with Kid Frost and the video will debut August 30th on BET: Access
Granted.
“It’s about time we start to fight for each other rather than fighting
against each other. I have homies from all cultural backgrounds and
generations to come if we all came together,” Snoop says of the
single.
Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, set for a November
release, features production from Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Rick Rock, Pharrell, and
guest appearances by Stevie Wonder, Ice Cube, the Game, Brandy, R.
Kelly, MC Eiht, and more.
