Much has been said and written about D-12 emcee, Proof since
his violent death several months ago. What has been left out of many news
reports is one of the last projects he was working on before his death.

While Proof is
widely known in the mainstream for Purple
Pills
and Fight Music, the Detroit emcee was also
working on a compilation titled Take the
Land
, an album that highlighted the importance of land ownership.

“Take the Land was a
project that basically talks about the importance of Black people owning land.
Everywhere you go… we rent but we don’t own, this whole thing is about land
ownership,”
Proof’s manager, Kali told Davey D in an interview.

“Land is the source of
all wealth… we see people out here blinging…if we can buy diamonds, why can’t
we own diamond mines?”
he added.
