This week in Hip Hop, Bow Wow got caught posting a real picture of a real private jet (just one that he wasn’t actually flying on) and the internet fired on him with the #BowWowChallenge. Also, Logic dropped his Everybody album and announced a tour with Joey Bada$$, and Meek Mill released some new music dissing Drake and Nicki Minaj. Lastly, stories (both good and bad) of Diddy being filthy rich dominated headlines.
Bow Wow’s Social Media Stunt Spurs #BowWowChallenge
Social media is a land of make-believe and Bow Wow got caught in its illusionary matrix by posting a picture of a private jet implying that he was flying high-class when he was really just flying coach on a commercial plane. Not that there’s anything wrong with flying coach, but the dishonesty did cause folks to call out the Ohio rapper-turned-actor, who now likes to go by his government name Shad Moss, for snatching a picture off Google as if it were his own.
The funniest part about Bow Wow’s allegedly purposeful blunder was the #BowWowChallenge it inspired, where people fake-stunted as if they were doing big things, when reality was much more realisitic. The challenge had everyone joining in — from Chance the Rapper to corporate brands such as Nescafé.

While a congratulatory celebration may be in order for the Bad Boy mogul, he’s recently been hit with a lawsuit by his former personal chef, Cindy Rueda, who claimed that Diddy made her bring him snacks after he finished slaying in the sheets. She was allegedly asked if she was attracted to Diddy’s naked bod. Rueda was eventually fired and she’s filing for wrongful termination as well.
No doubt Puffy is proud of his accomplishments as he routinely celebrates #BlackExcellence as a way to uplift his people. A Met Gala picture with Kendall and Kylie Jenner flipping the bird while in a photo with Diddy, Travis Scott, Wiz Khalifa, Jaden Smith and Migos, was another glowing example of Black excellence — minus the two sisters — so they had to get cropped out.
The internet went nuts over the cropping, and it’s not the first time Diddy has cropped out the KarJen clan from a picture to display #BlackExcellence.

“To me, he’s the prince of electro-funk,” Qbert says. “He was awesome to work with. He gave us the beat and just wanted us to let people know he’s alive and kicking. I met him about 15 years ago at a show. He had his 808 and stuff, and people were going crazy. He puts on such a great show.”
There’s a lot of fresh talent bubbling out of South Florida right now, from XXXTENTACION to Kodak Black. wifisfuneral is one of those artists gaining traction from the region and he chopped it up with DX and revealed he wasn’t taking this rap thing seriously at first.
“I look at what I do is actually a career now,” he says. “I didn’t look at it as a career. I just looked at it as like alright, whatever, fuck it, I’m making music. I just wing this whole shit honestly. I wing the whole thing. So the fact that I’m even here I’m like alright, now I’ll start trying.”
