This week in Hip Hop, Rick Ross released Rather You Than Me, which included revealing swipes at Birdman and Nicki Minaj. Also, Snoop Dogg pretended to assassinate a clownish-looking version of President Donald Trump in a music video and Trump suggests he gets jail time. Lastly, Drake will finally release More Life today (March 18).
Rick Ross Disses Birdman In Lil Wayne’s Honor
On Rick Ross’ Rather You Than Me cut “Idols Become Rivals” he takes a whole shot at Birdman in defense of Lil Wayne, who has been embroiled in a very public battle over money and the delayed release of Tha Carter V.
“I pray you find the kindness in your heart for Wayne,” Rozay raps on the song. “His entire life, he gave you what there was to gain. I watched this whole debacle so I’m part to blame. Last request, can all producers please get paid?”

He also comes to DJ Khaled’s defense at the end of the song which made many listeners believe that Baby is the “They” Khaled is always referring to on his beloved Snapchat.
Lil Wayne was appreciative of Ross’ move and for the kind, motivational words he expressed on Instagram.
“I needed that,” Wayne tweeted.
Not leaving one stone unturned, Ross also came for Nicki Minaj in defense of Meek Mill.

President Donald Trump Attempts To Lure Snoop Dogg Into A Twitter Beef
Canada’s own BADBADNOTGOOD and Snoop Dogg linked up to bring the world a shocking visual for the song “Lavender (Nightfall Remix)” where The Doggfather shoots a clown that looks similar to President Donald Trump.
Donald Trump somehow caught wind of the controversial video and, in usual fashion, caught a mean case of Twitter fingers.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” Donald found time to tweet while being the President of the United States.
Although the director of the video, Jesse Wellens, says it’s just a prank and only art, Florida Senator Marco Rubio didn’t think Snoop participating in the video in that capacity was a good idea.
“Snoop shouldn’t have done that,” Rubio told TMZ. “You know, we’ve had presidents assassinated before in this country, so anything like that is really something that you should be very careful about.”
T.I. doesn’t feel the same as Marco and came to Snoop’s defense with an epic roast.

“Fucking Tangerine Tanned Muskrat scrotum skin, Lacefront Possum fur Wig wearing, Alternative fact,Atomic Dog diarrhea face ass man,” he captioned under an Instagram picture of Donald Trump’s tweet.
Then, Shad Moss, formerly known as Bow Wow, decided it was a good idea to threaten to pimp out the First Lady Melania Trump. Twitter wasn’t with it, though.
However, Snoop has absolutely nothing to say.

Drake’s Playlist “More Life” Expected To Do Numbers
Wow, 40 has finally stopped hogging More Life on his hard drive and Drake has finally committed to a date for its release.
It’s scheduled to drop today (March 18) on OVO Radio and expected to do massive numbers. Hits Daily Double projects it to move 400,000 equivalent album units. That’s over 600 million streams to put that number into perspective. Not bad.
Oh yeah, thanks 40.

DXclusives: Jason Derulo, Warren G & Sap
Editor-In-Chief Trent Clark caught up with Jason Derulo and the singer exclusively revealed he had no clue Nicki Minaj’s verse on his song “Swalla” included a diss specially designated for Remy Ma.
“You know, it’s kinda crazy because I didn’t even expect that,” Derulo admits to HipHopDX. “[Her dissing Remy] didn’t even cross my mind. I didn’t [put two and two] together. To be honest, I don’t think anybody on my team or my label put that together, either. But I guess it was a combination of [“Swalla”] and the other song [“Make Love” with Gucci Mane]. I don’t really know the whole joint but I do know that her coming back with those three records was unbelievable. That’s some legendary shit.”

Editor-At-Large Shirley Ju is out in Austin this week enjoying SXSW festivities and was able to snag an interview with the legendary Warren G after a screening of his documentary G-Funk.
As it was the six year anniversary of “Regulate” collaborator Nate Dogg’s passing, Warren spoke on when he realized how big the classic West Coast song got.
“I seen the royalty check and said, ‘This is what you get for doing music? Damn, shit.’ I still didn’t understand what Gold and Platinum was,” he recalled.
Features Editor Ural Garrett coincidentally got a chance to speak to producer Sap about his work on Mac Miller’s single “Donald Trump” from his Best Day Ever Mixtape. The song was the first platinum plaque for both Mac and Sap. They had no clue it would be as big as it was.

“It’s so crazy because when we made that record, we had no idea this guy would run for president,” said Sap. “Not even win, we’re just saying run for president. It’s unreal. It’s so weird. I’m sure Mac Miller feels weird about it because that’s obvious the record is named after the guy.”
He admits that they’d never make that record today.
