Lupe Fiasco has been called the next Jay-Z, the next Nas, and even Nas-Z. The Chi-Town native really burst onto the scene with his show stealing verse on Kanye’s single Touch The Sky. The thoughtful emcee with the flawless flow has kept everyone sweating him with his dope Fahrenheit 1-15 mixtapes and his highly jocked, leaked debut Food & Liquor (due out late August). He has got Jay-Z, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams in his corner, and the talent to live up to expectations. Vote for Lupehere.
Despite being on the scene since the late 90’s, Rick Ross has yet to put out an album. Representing Miami, the always hustling Ross inked a deal with the local powerhouse Slip-N-Slide Records. Luckily for Ross, Jay-Z inked the label to Def Jam earlier this year. His reason for doing so was in large part to land Mr. Ross. With the world still buzzing off his smash single Hustlin and its remix featuring Hov and Young Jeezy, Ross will drop his debut Port of Miami in late August. Vote for Rick Rosshere.
Bred in the legendary College Park/SWATS, Yung Joc hit the scene with the ATL-based Block Entertainment before linking up with P. Diddy and Bad Boy South. In the year that has seen the Southern takeover continue, the 23 year old rapper helped the cause with his massive single It’s Goin Down. Hell, it even spawned its own dance. Joc’s debut album, Yung Joc City, was released on June 6th, 2006. Vote for Yung Jochere.
