The Roots have announced that they will tour the country in advance of their next album. ?uestlove, who seems to be everyone’s favorite everything including percussionist, producer and comedian (from Dave Chappelle’s Block Party) nowadays, is very excited for their next release and has devoted his myspace page, to keeping fans informed on all news related to the group and the album.

The group will release the album under the Def Jam imprint, which leaves the door open for numerous guests artists and label mates. The tour will consist of appearances from mostly with Talib Kweli, Blackalicious, The Incredibles, hip-hop violinist Miri-Ben Ari and Stones Throw artist Aloe Blacc. The LA show will include Blackalicious & Talib, so be sure not to miss the House of Blues show.

The Baltimore and Milwaukee bill will include a rare showing from the Pharcyde. The Pharcyde is merely a ghost of what they formerly were, so it’s yet to be seen who will be performing that night, but may include 3-5 artists you’ve never heard of.

The Roots album should be a good one considering they’ve been on hiatus for a while, recently performing at their annual show in New York City. Check out ?uestlove’s myspace page for the official countdown until Game Theory is expected to be released.
