We’ve all heard about Idlewild for years now, the theatrical debut of Outkast. But as everyone questioned whether it was still ‘him and I, aquemini,’ the long finished movie sat without a release date. That is no more as both the movie and the accompanying soundtrack have been pegged with a release date.
The Idlewild OST will drop August 22nd via ‘Kast’s longtime label LaFace, the movie will follow three days later on the 25.
As reported and brought to you by HipHopDX last week, the OST’s lead single The Mighty O leaked to the Internet.
Idlewild, which stars both Andre 3000 and Big Boi was written and directed by Bryan Barber. The 30’s based film also co-stars Oscar nominee Terrence Howard, Faizon Love, Ben Vereen, Cicely Tyson, Angelo Moore and fellow artists Patti LaBelle, and Macy Gray.
