November started a little shakily for Drake with his rival Meek Mill dropping Dreamchasers 4to much acclaim, and internet activists getting on his back about the Kid Cudi diss track.
However, Drizzy has proven that you can’t keep a good man down and racked up some successes of his own over the last few days.
On Sunday night (November 6), the Canadian rapper won the award for Best Hip Hop at the MTV EMAs in the Netherlands — though he wasn’t in the audience to collect it. The award caps off trophy-laden week in Drake’s career after he had already beaten out acts like Beyoncé and Chris Brown to scoop the Best International Act Award at last week’s MOBOs.
Even though Drake couldn’t be in the venue, he did acknowledge the MTV EMA award on Instagram, posting this photo alongside the caption “Winning week.”

Drake wasn’t the only Canadian to pick up an award, though. The Weeknd was in attendance to collect his Best Video award for “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk.
In what may come as a surprise to many, Beyoncé failed to pick up any awards despite being nominated in five different categories.
Otherwise, there was a pretty limited Hip Hop influence in the Netherlands for the MTV EMAs with the other big winners including Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes and Lady Gaga.
Drake looks to continue racking up Ws at the American Music Awards November 20 where he is nominated for a record 13 awards.
