A former member of Cash Money’s Hot Boyz, Tab “Turk” Vigil, was sentenced to 12 years in prison April 27 for wounding a sheriff’s deputy during a 2004 Memphis, Tennessee drug raid .

Turk pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree murder to avoid a longer sentence of up to 25 years if convicted of first-degree attempted murder during a trial.

Turk shot S.W.A.T. team member Chris Harris four times during a raid at the Hickory Hill apartment complex in Memphis in Jan. 2004.
Harris was hit in the jaw, thigh and calf as he attempted to open a closet door inside the apartment.

In October 2005, Turk was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a handgun. His attorney, Jay Bailey, is working on getting federal authorities to allow Turk to serve both sentences concurrently in the U.S. Bureau of Prisons
