While he may not get the ink and acclaim that his counterparts do, few rappers can claim the influence on hip-hop that Kool Keith can. From his days as the front man of the groundbreaking Ultramagnetic MC’s to his use of multiple aliases and spaced out sound, Keith Thorton has left countless emcees at his heels. The most notorious of his pseudonyms came in 1996 with Dr. Octagon, a killer gynecologist from the year 3000. Along with Dan The Automater and DJ Q-Bert he crafted a timeless classic that still acts as a benchmark today.

After label trouble and a subsequent falling out with Automater led to fellow Keith alias Dr. Dooom killing Dr. Octagon on an album intro, most feared the perverted psychopath would never return. Ten years later Keith resurrected the character as Dr. Nogatco.

Still no Automater reunion in the works, Dr. Oct has teamed up with the production team of One Watt Sun. The Berlin based trio of Ben Green, Simon Walbrook and John Lindland are prominent producers and electronic musicians and will supply the good doctor with more beats from the year 3000. The Return of Dr. Octagon has not been tagged with an exact release date just yet.
