Most emcees can only dream of being immortalized on wax. Earlier this week, the late 2 Pac received such a distinction, but it didn’t come from an album.

Madame Tussads located in The Venetian in Las Vegas unveiled a $200,000 life sized sculpture of the fallen emcee, Wednesday.

The sculpture is perhaps, the most accurate depiction of Pac that the Hip Hop world will get. Every detail about the real life Pac is present in the wax statue, right down to the tattoos and the nose piercing.
“I thought my nephew was going to blink,”Gloria Cox, Shakur’s aunt told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “It’s beautiful … perfect. It captures his intensity.”
Shakur’s sister, Sekyiwa attended, but his mother, Afeni did not. She has not returned to Las Vegas since her son was shot and killed there in 1995.

Las Vegas has gotten national attention recently due to comments that city officials have made about Hip Hop. The controversy began after a Las Vegas officer was killed in the line of duty by an aspiring rapper.

The unveiling of the statue, brought no objections from police, but a spokesperson for the museum stated that police objections would not have put a halt to the show.

Adrian Jones, general manager of Madame Tussads stated that Pac was who the public wanted to see in wax.

“We asked our guests, and Tupac came out number one by a long, long way,” she said.

The murder of 2 Pac is not a closed case, according to Las Vegas officer Detective Dan Long. The department still gets leads, but he says most of them point towards a conspiracy theory involving President Bush.

“The majority of phone calls we get these days is that President Bush (and an arm of the government) killed him. I’m serious.”
