Recently, DX ran a story about one industry vet’s beef with Bubba Sparxx’sMs. New Booty contest. The debate heated up today, when both sides issued statements concerning the controversy.
“People are just really overreacting,”Virgin Records executive Jermaine Dupri told AllHipHop.com. “It’s just feel good music. We at Virgin are in no way promoting sex or whatever these media outlets continue to print.”
However, the site in question, msnewbooty.com encourages female fans to submit their best back shots for a chance to appear in a future Bubba Sparxxx video. The site also links viewers to girlsgonewild.com, the Virgin Records web page and Big Boi’s Purple Ribbon label.
Adds promoting the site can also be seen on BET’s106th and Park, a show which has remained consistently popular with a younger demographic.

Paul Porter, co-founder of Industryears.com also issued a statement refuting Dupri’s claims.
”Dupri‘s comments were also expected, the goal at Virgin remains
the same, to sell records by any means neccesary. Next time ask
Jermaine if the partnership with “Girls Gone Wild” is for fun or money.”
”I wonder how many under the age of 18 will check the no box?”Porter adds about the site’s security question.
