Success typically comes from a constant grind that leads to a long series of small steps that get you closer to your goal. Queens, New York rapper Th3 Saga took one of those steps recently, with his “I Ain’t Gon Back” track getting played for the first time on NYC-based radio station Hot 97.

The religious rapper was featured on the channel’s Christian Hip Hop show “Street Glory” hosted by DJ Tony Tone on Sunday (June 19) morning.

Saga has made some noise in battle rap over the last couple of years, appearing on “106 & Park”‘s Ultimate Freestyle Friday tournament on BET in 2014, and then graduating to URL’s main stage against competition like Chilla Jones, Swave Sevah and Shotgun Suge.

The rapper shared his reaction to the airplay on his Facebook page, where you can see him be overcome with joy as he listens to the DJ’s intro and the full song.
