Athens, GA

Fruit rollups. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Juice boxes.

This is apparently what fuels 38-year-old rap superstar Ludacris.

That info comes from a concert contract from an April 16 show at the University of Georgia’s G-Day game, where the Fast & Furious actor was reportedly paid $65,000 for a 15-minute performance. That’s $72.22 per second, if you were wondering.

In addition to the (at least) 10 chicken dinners required for the show, Luda also requested one box of Magnum condoms (the same brand he’s partnered with in the past) and several bottles of alcohol, including two bottles of his own brand of Conjure cognac.

Those details caused a stir in the media once the concert rider for the college show was revealed.

According to the Athens Banner-Herald, the University’s athletic director, Greg McGarity, apologized this week at a board meeting for “mistakes we made with certain aspects of the details of an entertainment agreement,” referencing the Ludacris contract.

“Few things in my professional life have bothered me more than this situation,” he continued. “There are no reruns in life so we need to turn the page, learn from our mistakes and do everything we can to make sure errors of this nature do not reoccur.”

UGA president Jere Morehead addressed the controversy as well. “Obviously in retrospect they should have done a more thorough job of reviewing all of the riders and removing those that were objectionable,” he said.
