MTV’s reality show, Made has made dreams become reality for several aspiring teens. On the latest episode, Made a female pianist becomes a battle ready emcee, with the help of The King of Arizona.
According to the show summary on MTV.com, the show’s protagonist, Genevieve”is known as the girl who uses big words, plays piano and enjoys studying. But she wants to rap to relate to her peers who think she’s strange.”
This is where Atllas steps in. He gave DX the inside scoop on the ins and outs of Genevieve’s transformation and what’s next for his star, which is quickly rising.
”She was a classically trained pianist and an outcast at her school,” he says of Genevieve. “She said she wanted to be a rapper so she could fit in at her school. So, MTV put me on the job. I worked with Genevieve for 6 weeks giving her varied assignments to help her further understand hip-hop culture. I didn’t want to just teach her how to rap I wanted to educate her on what the culture was about and what it meant to represent Arizona hip-hop. I wouldn’t say that at the end she represents AZ hip hop, but, she did make progress.”

Atllas pulled no punches and also enlisted the help of his staff at Fire Flock Entertainment and his crew, known as the Phoenix Sector to help out.
”We took her to perform, Lyracist (a member of Phoenix Sector) taught her how about freestyling and presence, Capum C (also of Phoenix Sector) was her hype man during her performance, the dance troop F2 were her background dancers and Deztined provided her with the beat. I wrote the hook for the song and she sculpted the verse. The show ended with her performing for her high school pep rally. The kids loved her performance and Genevieve was transformed into a rapper.”
The show will re-air tonight at 10 p.m. EST.
Opportunities to be on MTV don’t come overnight, and Atllas has put in work in the Southwest for a minute. He was crowned the highest selling local artist in 2003 and 2005 with the albums The King of AZ and Hunger and Starvation. His next album will be titled, Say Hello to the Crook.
