Tarus Jackson of the legendary Bay Area group The Coup was killed this week in a robbery of his home. 36-year-old Tarus, who had been the hype man for Boots Riley for the past year, was pistol whipped before being fatally shot by the robbers. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $12,000 in reward money for information leading to the suspects’ arrest.
