West coast emcee Snoop Dogg is set to lead a youth rally this week at the San Quentin State Prison in support of Stanley “Tookie” Williams.
In addition to the rally, which will be held Saturday, Snoop and the recently reunited Dogg Pound are dedicating their video, Real Soon to Tookie.
“It’s a dedication to Big Tookie, the original Crip,” Daz told Ballerstatus.net. “We just trying to show our support for his situation — he’s about to be executed in December and this is for him.”
Williams is a founding member of the notorious Crips gang and is scheduled to die December 13. Since being sentenced to death, he has become one of the country’s largest anti-gang advocates and has also written several children’s books. His writings have earned him notoriety and have garnered several Nobel Prize nominations.

Snoop Dogg joins a host of others, including actor Jamie Foxx in the efforts to get California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to grant Williams, now 51 clemency.
The final attempt at an appeal was exhausted in October when the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear Williams’ case.
