Migos member Offset details jail experience in new interview. Now that Kiari “Offset” Cephus, who serves as one-third of the Atlanta-based group Migos, has been released from jail, the rapper is now sharing his story.
Offset was released earlier this month after pleading guilty to reduced charges.
The Migos member spoke exclusively with Atlanta’s WSBTV about his experience, the legal punishment he was given, and lastly, what he’s chosen to take away from the experience.
When asked how he felt about the word banishment being used as a legal term in his case, Offset revealed that it was a term more suited for someone who’s a terrorist or similar.

“No, that’s something like if a terrorist come over here or something,” Offset said. “We went there to do a show…I just had to take a blow to handle the situation.”
Offset, who says he read The Bible and an artist management book while in jail, explained that his experience was an eye-opening one.
“Maybe I wasn’t seeing—my eye weren’t open for the bigger picture,” he said. “And it opened my eyes. Because I went to talking to God to see what answers he would give me. I probably need a little makeup work done on my character. God just wanted to protect me from getting hurt or injured during the time I was locked up.”
Offset and the other members of Migos were arrested in Statesboro, Georgia in April after illegal weapons and drugs were found by authorities.
