As part of a feature titled “The Most Successful Labels in Hip Hop,” Polygraph has listed the top labels over the past several years by using a series of infographics.

The first infographic lists the 10 most successful labels in Hip Hop from 1989 to the present. An artists’ performance on Billboard’s rap chart was used in creating the list.

At the top of the list is Def Jam with 152 charting tracks and 48 charting artists. Def Jam is followed by Young Money, Roc-A-Fella, Jive, and Bad Boy.

“The top ten list reads like a history of hip hop,” Polygraph reports. “Def Jam, the pioneer label in hip hop, is properly at #1. Young Money has only been active for the past six years, and it’s at #2, exemplifying the current state of hip hop and its concentration in one place.”

According to one infographic, the years 2010-2015 brought about a number of hit songs from the Southeast region, including Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” Waka Flocka Flame’s “No Hands,” and Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag.”
