The man who punched Dr. Dre at last year’s Vibe Awards will now serve one year behind bars.

Jimmy James Johnson pleaded guilty to felony assault and was also sentenced to three years probation. During that time, he is ordered to stay away from Dre, according to the Associated Press.

The attack led to a brawl that temporarily halted the awards show. G Unit rapper Young Buck stabbed Johnson during the melee while coming to Dre’s aid. Johnson suffered a collapsed lung as a result of the stabbing.

Young Buck will stand trial separately for his role in the brawl. According to a chartattack.com article, his trial will begin September 27.
