In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, Black Entertainment Television is teaming up with the National Urban League and the American Red Cross for a September 9 telethon.
The telethon will begin at 6:30 pm. With a special episode of 106th and Park, the telethon will immediately follow from 7:30-10pm. ET. There will be a tape delay on the west coast; however pledge lines will remain open.
Other celebrities and organizations involved in the event include Hip-Hop Summit Action Network Chairman Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles and the Warner Music Group, Essence Communications, David Banner and Master P
