Kanye West raised some eyebrows in Canada Monday after he stormed out of a radio interview. The reason: an edited song lyric.

Kanye’s newest single, “Gold Digger”, the closing line states, “And when he get on, he’ll leave your ass for a white girl.” The lyric was too much for Toronto’s Flow 93.5 who edited out the word “white.”

“(We can edit) anything that we think might be derogatory to any colour, race, creed, what have you, anything misogynistic, too,” said Flow’s Program Director, Wayne Williams. “There’s no wrong-and-right or black-and-white answer. We pay for the rights to play his music and so on and so forth, so we also have the right to edit what we think is necessary.”

During an on air interview with Flow personality DJ “Hollywood” Rick Fagon, Kanye attempted to address the issue of the edited lyric. After becoming unhappy with the way the issue was addressed, West walked out of the interview.

Ironically, according to a www.Dose.ca website report, the next song played was West’s“Gold Digger”, complete with the “white girl” lyric intact.
