According to a statement released by his spokesperson, Eminem has been hospitalized for a dependency on sleep medication.
“Marshall Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem, is in the hospital under doctors’ care,” read a statement issued by Interscope Records. “He’s being treated for dependency on sleep medication.” They declined to give further details on the location of treatment or how long the rapper would be hospitalized, according to an MTV.com article.
The rapper recently made headlines earlier this week after announcing that he would be canceling the European leg of his latest tour, which was to begin September 1 in Hamburg, Germany and end September 17 in Dublin, Ireland.
