With numerous projects and several years behind him in the music industry, Atlanta, Georgia rapper Future revealed that he feels that he’s reached his prime in his career. Future offered his thoughts on the current status of his career and more, during an appearance on HuffPost Live.
According to the Southern wordsmith, although he feels he’s reached his prime, he’s still “getting better and better” with his music each day. He later compared his music to a diary and revealed that he plans to speak on his personal life with his future music.
“Most definitely,” Future said when asked if he feels he’s reached his prime. “I feel like I’m just getting started. I feel like I’m a fresh, new artist. But just going at it about a whole ‘nother way. Taking a different approach with it. And I feel like I most definitely done hit my prime, but at the same time I know I’m getting better and better by the day. The music that I’m dropping. Things that I’m going through it allows me to express myself. It’s like having a diary. My music is a diary that I’m putting out. It’s a diary to my life. I get a chance to express myself on a day-to-day basis…I got another son. And then I had to go on tour. So, me just expressing myself…He ended up coming the day I had to leave to go on tour. I wanted to cancel the tour, but I couldn’t. It was like a lot of money on the line.”
Future also shared his side of the story concerning his breakup with singer Ciara. He revealed that he was the one who called off the engagement between the two, and later shared his thoughts on Ciara and current boyfriend Russell Wilson abstaining from sex.

“I see a lot of people say ‘Man, he cheated. He cheated.’ Because I feel like 95 percent of relationships end with cheating, but me and her relationship had nothing to do with cheating,” he said. “I feel like we was just growing away from each other. We grew apart. And it’s just so much dealing with when you in a relationship and you the man and you wanna make certain decisions for yourself. And she wanna make certain decisions. And I feel like the best route for me is to make more music. To go back to Atlanta and go back to my roots to do what I feel’s good for my family…I don’t know they situation. He [Russell Wilson] might could be—He might have announced that just for the sake of saying that. God didn’t tell me. God didn’t tell me that. God told me something else. He didn’t tell me wait. I guarantee you that.”
During his appearance on HuffPost Live, Future also addressed OG Maco’s recent tweets about his music, looking up to Jay Z and Andre 3000, and more.
