After 5 years of tag teaming on BET’s highly popular 106 and Park, AJ and Free announced Thursday that they were leaving the show and the network.

Wearing a black shirt that read “Still Free”, AJ who appeared solo announced at the beginning that it would be a “big show” but couldn’t give away all the details.

After teasing the audience and the home viewers with the news of a big announcement, AJ delivered the news, with Free listening and via cell phone. “I want everybody to know out there that this is my last live show on 106 and Park,” he said fighting back tears. He also announced that they would also be going on a “farewell tour”, but did not go into detail.

According to BET.com,AJ also said, “This is our last live show… But this isn’t the last time you’ll see us.”
