Contrary to previous reports, Eminem has no plans to hang up the microphone in September upon completion of his Anger Management Tour. Sources close to the rapper first leaked the story but a statement from the man himself deads all the rumors.
During an interview with MTV.com the rapper explicitly stated, “I’m not retiring.” He later went on to state, “When I say I’m taking a break, I’m taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce my other artists and put their albums out. That’s called taking a break for me,” he says.
Initial reports from Detroit stated that the rapper was tired of the spotlight and wanted to focus his efforts on production.
Eminem also stated that while he would not be rapping forever, he cautioned fans about believing everything they see in print. “When I know my next move, I’ll tell everyone my next move. Not some reporter…” he told MTV.com. “I haven’t said anything yet.”

When the time comes for Slim Shady to hang up the mic, don’t worry, his presence will still be felt in tape decks and CD changers world wide. “I’m gonna always make music, whether I’m just sittin’ behind the boards and producing and making beats and puttin’ my other artists out there.”
