It seems that these days, sports and music, particularly hip-hop music is joined at the hip. Nike seeks to continue this marriage by bringing former DTP baby face Chingy, DJ Z-Trip and Nina Sky together for the third Nike Run Hit Wonder Tour.
Kicking off yesterday in Central Park, over ten thousand runners gathered for a five mile race. The performers will perform before, after and even during the races to help keep the runners motivated. Other acts include rock n’ roll veterans Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and The Donnas.
The Nike Run Hit Wonder Tour will also stop in Portland Oregon on July 24 and Chicago on September 13. Proceeds from the event are going towards NikeGO, Nike’s U.S. community affairs initiative encouraging youth to be more physically active.
