Those at Cash Money Records are reportedly one step closer to a lawsuit that was filed against them being thrown out. According to the Jasmine Brand, Jas Prince’s $4 million lawsuit against the record label is on the verge of being thrown out.

The website first reported that a federal judge granted Cash Money’s request to have the case thrown out. They later added that the case had not been thrown out yet since the judge in the matter has given Prince 40 days to add Aspire Music Group to his complaint.

Aspire Music Group is the label Prince allegedly helped in signing Drake to before the Canadian singer/rapper signed to Young Money Records.

He’s suing Cash Money due to the $5 million he says the label agreed to pay him for advances and profits from Drake’s music. So far, Prince has only received $1 million of the $5 million he’s allegedly owed.

On Cash Money’s end, AllHipHop.com reports that the label stated that there was never any binding agreement with Prince and added that Aspire Music Group is the only party they owe a percentage of Drake’s profits to.

Earlier this year, while speaking with TMZ, Jas Prince revealed that he was hoping to receive “everything that’s owed” to him for his assistance in helping Drake ink a deal with Cash Money.
