Another piece has been added to the unsolved murder mystery of Notorious B.I.G. The family of the late rapper announced that they have an affidavit linking Suge Knight to the 1997 murder.
Attorneys released the document Monday, which is also said to contain evidence that Knight collaborated with Los Angeles Police Department officer David Mack to carry out the crime. According to an MTV.com article, Knight wanted to “get” Biggie for “downing [2]Pac.”
The case has also been met with its share of scrutiny by other witnesses as well. One critical witness in the case, Kevin Hackie questioned the late rapper’s family and their motives for this wrongful death lawsuit. “You have no weapon, you don’t have a direct link to an actual suspect, so obviously, this time it would be for monetary purposes,” he said of the suit filed against the city of Los Angeles and current and former LA police chiefs. The LAPD is accused of trying to hide Mack’s involvement in the murder.
The Notorious B.I.G. was gunned down March 9, 1997 while outside a music industry party. Although there are several theories surrounding his death, the police have failed to bring the case to a close.
