Last week, Kendrick Lamar stormed through the streets of Los Angeles on a sixteen wheeler, flatbed truck.

Kendrick’s mobile concert was part of a Reebok-sponsored run to promote the brand’s latest  ZPump Fusion shoe.

Hundreds of participating runners trekked from Sunset Blvd. to the Reebok Lounge on Melrose Ave. where they were able to cool down at an after-party hosted by Lamar.

Kicks On Fire sat down with the “King Kunta” rapper to talk about sneakers, and his partnership with Reebok.

“The first thing you see when you walk in the door is what a person is wearing on their feet,” Kendrick tells KOF. “As a kid, we used to wear a lot of Reebok Classics, inspired by the Hot Boyz.”

Kendrick also tells the sneaker-oriented site that he’s currently inspired by “life”, “wisdom”, and “growing old.”

Since partnering with Reebok in 2014, Kendrick has apparently stocked up on one of the brand’s classic shoes.

“My sneaker rotation is all Reebok classics,” he admits. “I took it back to 7th grade.”
