After surprising the music industry with the release of his Paul McCartney-featuring single “Only One” in the first moments of 2015, Kanye West made an unexpected appearance at iHeartMedia’s Music Summit in Burbank, Calif. on Wednesday (January 21).

According to Billboard, West was introduced by Def Jam CEO Steve Bartels and spoke for nearly an hour about his career, plans for new music, and his status as a radio-friendly artist to an audience of industry professionals.

Referring to his Yeezusrollout in which he said outright that radio “ain’t where I want to be no more,” West backtracked. “I was joking!” he reportedly said. “Of course I want to be on the radio!” During the presentation, West also spoke about his progression as a radio artist beginning with his early hits like “Jesus Walks” and “Through The Wire”

After an a cappella performance of “Only One,” the making of which West described during the speech, Kanye also offered the audience a sneak peek at a new duet with Rihanna before leaving the stage.

Earlier this month, Ty Dolla $ign told Billboard about working with Kanye on new music that also features Paul McCartney and Rihanna.

“It’s gonna drop soon,” Ty Dolla $ign said of the yet-to-be-released collab. “I heard they shot the video recently. I don’t know what the final title is, but I know it’s crazy so just be looking out for [it].”
