Not long after Tyga made similar claims about Cash Money shelving his album, Lil Wayne took to Twitter this week and blasted the label for delaying his album release and a lack of artistic support.

“This is not my fault,” he wrote. “I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation.”

“I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy,” Lil Wayne added. “I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again,I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u.”

The latest Cash Money Records grievances come fresh off revelations from industry insider Wendy Day that Birdman and Cash Money systematically refused to pay employees and business services for long periods of time.

J. Cole Name Drops Eminem, Macklemore, Iggy Azalea As Cultural Appropriators

Cole’s album leaked a week early and not only gave fans an unexpected treat but also revealed some choice lines from the song “Fire Squad.”

“History repeats itself and that’s just how it goes,” J. Cole raps on the track. “Same way that these rappers always bite each other’s flows/ Same thing that my nigga Elvis did with rock ‘n’ roll / Justin Timberlake, Eminem and then Macklemore.”

Later on the track, Cole alludes to Iggy Azalea’s chances at winning a Rap Grammy: “While silly nigga argue over who gon’ snatch the crown / Look around my nigga, White people have snatched the sound / This year I’ll be probably go to the awards dappered down / Watch Iggy win a Grammy as I try to crack a smile,” he raps.

Kanye West Ready To Retire From Music?

While no other publication has confirmed the report, a source told Page Six recently that Kanye West is thinking about stepping away from music to focus his energy on fashion.

“After his next [collaboration] with Paul McCartney comes out, he’s going to step away from music and concentrate on clothing,” the source reportedly said. “He got a $15 million signing bonus from adidas, but his line has been pushed back four times because he hasn’t had enough time to work on it.”
