It has recently been announced that the producers of the Lyricist Lounge and Ecko Unlimited are releasing a new Mix Tape series which will feature tracks from established Hip Hop artists, as well as today’s hottest newcomers. The release is to be called Underground Airplay Version 1.0 and follows in the footsteps of a decade old Lyricist Lounge and ecko unltd. collabo marketing efforts through the “one-shirt, one-tape, one-love” philosophy, and the release of a hot mixed tape CD called “Underground Airplay.”
When asked about previous dealings with the Lyricist Lounge, Perry Lanesberg, one of the founders of Ecko said, “The sort of symbiotic relationship that existed between the Lyricist Lounge and Ecko was unique because it was one of the first successful commercial joint ventures to prove that music and fashion in Hip Hop go hand-in-hand,”
The first single from Underground Airplay Version 1.0 is “Jam On It,” which will feature Mos Def who performs a cover to the popular 80’s title. Other featured artists include: X-exutioners ft. Pharoahe Monch, Xzibit, Inspectah Deck, Skillz, Young Zee feat. Rah Diggah, Killah Priest, Bahamadia/Planet Asia/Rasco, Kardinal Offishall, and many more. Expected release date is September 7th, so show some love and go cop it.
