Sitting down with the hosts of “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show,” T.I. addressed his recent travels to Africa for a performance in Tanzania in an interview that also touched on his role in resolving a social media beef between Snoop Dogg and Iggy Azalea.
“It was magnificent,” T.I. said of the experience of performing in the East African country. “Just to see 50,000 of our people, all gathered for a positive reason, to come to see me. Everybody just rocking. A sea of Black people rocking.”
When asked if the crowd was familiar with his work, T.I. said, “Absolutely, they turned all the way that way,” while pointing to the sky.
Later in the interview, T.I. described his reality show as an opportunity to show the world a different side of himself and combat his public image as a “troublemaker.”

“That was one of the main reasons we decided to do the show because we felt that if there would be judgements being placed, it should be fair and just,” he said. “I felt like, people’ll take a headline or a moment in my life and they’ll judge me just based on that, ‘cause that’s all they know. So we had to give’em more to observe so they can analyze from a place of intellect.”
On his role as a mediator between Snoop Dogg and Iggy Azalea, T.I. hinted that the conversation was easy-going.
“It wasn’t a stiff conversation that had to be had,” he said of speaking with Snoop Dogg. “It was just me reaching out to a long-time, respected associate and long-time partner. As soon as I reached out to him he knew what I was talking about and he took it upon himself, out the goodness of his heart, to approach the situation the way he did.”
