I guess it doesn’t matter to BET that Rah Digga hasn’t released an album in three years, because she received a BET Awards nomination for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Rah Digga released her first and only solo album, “Dirty Harriet,” in 2000. which solidified her reputation as a genuine lyricist.
There are two reasons fans have not been given a sophomore album from Rah. The femcee has spent sometime acting on the big and small screen (13 Ghosts and MTV’s Carmen: A Hip-Hopera). The other being Busta Rhyme’s and Flipmode’s split from J Records. Rah Digga’s second album is complete and was sent out to press, but the split with J Records happened before it dropped.
The other nominees for the award are Missy Elliot, Da Brat, Jacki-O and MC Lyte. Now I ask, if they are nominating people without albums, acting like there aren’t enough good candidates…ever heard of Jean Grae????
