Bronx, New York emcee Tashane was murdered earlier this week in his native borough. Tashane was among the newest artists signed to Show’s D.I.T.C. Records imprint, and had recorded with Show & A.G. (f/k/a Showbiz & A.G.), DJ Premier and others.
In his most recent Halftime Radio Show, DJ Eclipse confirmed the news, as well as honored the previous guest. “We want to pay our respects to the whole D.I.T.C. crew. They lost one of the newest members of D.I.T.C. Entertainment: Tashane, passed away. He was killed last night,” said Eclipse yesterday (June 5), of the June 4 murder. The former founding member of Non-Phixion added that Tashane dropped his favorite verse during the radio show’s 15th anniversary special in February March.
A.G. also confirmed the news with HipHopDX, though declined to speak further on the matter. Tayshane is the latest loss to the D.I.T.C. (Diggin’ In The Crates) family. The iconic super-group lost one of its founding members, Big L to homicide in 1999. Longtime A.G. protege and Ghetto Dwellaz member Party Arty died in 2008 from health complications.
