Jamla Records has released acclaimed albums such as Skyzoo’s 2009 debut, The Salvation and last year’s The Idea Of Beautiful breakout solo debut by Rapsody. The North Carolina-based label started by 9th Wonder is an homage to Berry Gordy’s Tamla Records name.

With a roster including AMP, GQ, and Heather Victoria, among others, the label made a personnel announcement this weekend. One of Jamla’s artists, Sean Boog, has been named label manager by 9th Wonder via Twitter.

Boog, along with producer Khrysis are part of the veteran group and Justus League members, The Away Team. The duo last released Scars & Stripes for Jamla/Duck Down Music in 2011, in conjunction with another 9th imprint, It’s A Wonderful World Music Group.

Boog notably appeared on Foreign Exchange’s debut Connected, before releasing Away Team’s debut National Anthem one year later in 2005.
