Gangsta rapper-turned-gun activist Snoop Lion (a/k/a Snoop Dogg) has continued his campaign to bring peace to streets. A rep for Tony Bennett confirmed that Snoop has aligned with the veteran crooners Voices Against Violence campaign. Snoop tweeted the association.

Snoop has spoken extensively on his evolving views on violence and guns. In March of this year, the Long Beach, California veteran proposed his own possible solution on the issue to HipHopDX:

“One of [the solutions] is doing what I’m doing: correcting my mistakes by being a better person and putting out more energy and more music that represents what we’re going through as opposed to what we went through,” Snoop Lion told DX.

Voices Against Violence exists in partnership with the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence launched a new text-to-call campaign to give Americans another way to make their voice heard on Capital Hill. Over 30,000 calls to Congress have been generated by Voices and the Brady Campaign showing support for common sense gun laws effectively keeping the pressure on Congress to support legislation and creating a backlash against those Senators who voted no to the bipartisan bill. Other celebrities who’ve shown their support include: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Alec Baldwin, Jim Carey, and Sting.
