Three Kanye West demo-era tracks released this week (from unofficial collection, The Prerequisite), during an otherwise quiet seven days. The three cuts led clicks of interest, as these songs reportedly stem from the recordings that later yielded The College Dropout. Snoop Lion unloaded a bonus track from Reincarnated, featuring T.I., while Joell Ortiz jumped on Drake’s beat to make it his own. Ab-Soul popped up on one of Mac Miller’s tracks (as production alter-ego Larry Fisherman), and Ludacris started unveiling some of his hiatus recordings.

Kanye West Has An Ill Prerequisite

With his return to the United States planned in just weeks, Kanye West never ceases to be like Dr. Dre or Eminem as the most interesting character in Hip Hop, for the simple fact he locks down his music. When a collection of early ’00s unreleased and demo recordings surfaced this month, people took interest. Old ‘Ye outweighed all other newtracks this week, with Top 10-leading “Have It Your Way,”“Know The Game” and an alternate version of “Wow.” It’s as good a Saturday as ever to pull out those early mixtapes and The College Dropout, and get that “School Spirit” poppin’.

Jay-Z Flashes A New $100

Just a snippet, and like ‘Ye, Jay-Z had their ears this past week. Hova’s vocal contribution to The Great Gatsby soundtrack pulled clicks. With Andre 3000 & Beyonce’s“Back To Black” cover coming out in full in the last 24 hours, don’t be shocked if we get the full monty of Jay’s first track since (also charting) “Open Letter.”
