The lineup for 2013’s Lollapolooza Festival has been announced for the August 2 through August 4 event. In the 22nd year of the festival launched by Perry Farrell, and in the event’s ninth year in Chicago, Illinois’ Grant Park, headliners will include Nine Inch Nails, The Cure and Mumford & Sons. N.I.N.’s Trent Reznor, who has worked with El-P and Dr. Dre, was one of the first acts to perform at the fest, in its first year, 1991.
On the Hip Hop side, star Kendrick Lamar is among the top performers in this morning’s press release. Kendrick’s Interscope Records label-mate Azealia Banks is also slated to appear. Punk-inspired Hip Hop group Death Grips will perform, as will Australian emcee 360. There are 130 bands in all playing at this year’s three-day event.
Tickets go on sale April 3 via Lollapolooza’s website, after March 26’s three-day pass sale sold out.
