First LA Reid stepped from Arista and Lyor dipped out of Def Jam. Then Kevin Liles. Now Master P has swapped homes from Universal to Koch Records and Choppa, best-known for his smash “Choppa Style,” has started his own Street Balla Records, left P and signed with Roy Jones Jr.‘s Body Head Entertainment. His latest, The Real Choppa is set to drop soon.

To celebrate the upcoming release, Roy and Choppa flew press down to New Orleans for Mardis Gras. Journalists visited Choppa’s neighborhood in the West Bank where he rode a float in his local parade, and watched him and other Body Head artists put it down onstage at The Emerald Palace, the infamous spot where C-Murder allegedly shot a young man. Featuring the single “Hot Piece, “Throw Back” and “Walk With Me with Jones and Juvenile, Choppa assures that The Real Choppa showcases his versatility.

Back in NYC, Goodie Mob previewed 10 tracks from their upcoming One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show at the offices of Koch Records in midtown Manhattan. The single is “In Da Streets,” but “Shawty Wanna Be A Gangsta” is definitely my favorite cut. A behind-the-scenes DVD is included featuring interviews with OutKast, Killer Mike, Sleepy Brown and more of the Dungeon Family and Organized Noize. The group talks about Khujo‘s accident, how the title of the CD reflects their feelings about ex-member Cee-Lo & more.
