It looks like Frank Ocean’s acclaimed debut Channel Orange has been officially certified gold, according to HipHop-N-More.
News broke today that the RIAA officially awarded the OFWGKTA singer’s Def Jam debut gold status certification for selling more than 500,000 copies since its release in July 2012. The album debuted to over 130,000 units sold upon its release.
This isn’t the first honor that Channel Orange has received. The album earned nearly universal acclaim from critics, and has been nominated for six Grammy awards, including Best New Album.
Most recently, Ocean was involved in a scuffle with Chris Brown at a Los Angeles recording studio.
