It’s a known fact among fans that rapper Hopsin got his career start as an actor in films like Fame. Now, in a recent interview with Nardwuar and iamOTHER via Nah Right, the Cali rapper digs deep into his prior acting career.

Hopsin revealed that he actually acted on the children’s series “That’s So Raven” for a number of years. He says he also had jobs as an extra in a number of other shows and films, including John Tucker Must Die and “Lizzie McGuire.”

“The ‘That’s So Raven’ thing, I was actually a day-player on there. I had to audition for it, but I’ve done like hundreds of shows,” he recalled. “That was my job, being an extra, from like 15 up until age 22 years old. That was my job until I actually got an income from rapping…I was on a lot. I was on ‘Lizzie McGuire,’ I’ve done extra work on ‘That’s So Raven,’ I’ve done extra work on ‘Even Stevens,’ I’ve done it on the movie John Tucker Must Die.”

Hopsin also discussed his love of skateboarding and his favorite skateboarding rapper. Hopsin began by trashing Lil Wayne’s recent foray into skating, but did praise Yelawolf’s skating ability.

“My favorite skater rapper of all time who’s like, really killing it, is my nigga Lil Wayne. He be shredding – psych. He’s fucking whack,” he said. “Yelawolf is a [good] skater rapper. He’s super dope. That’s probably the only one that I’ll co-sign.”
