A lawsuit against Diddy over the use of the name Empress has been dismissed.

AllHipHop reports that Empress Haircare Products’ claim against Diddy and his Sean John Clothing Company was nullified on Wednesday (October 3).

The lawsuit, originally filed in January 2012, claimed that representatives for Sean John approached the haircare products company to clear the trademark for a proposed Empress Line of perfume Diddy intended to launch.

Empress Haircare Products, however, refused to grant Sean John the rights. According to the lawsuit, Diddy went ahead with using the name anyway.

The lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, which means that the case will most likely not be able to be retried.
