NYC’s legendary trio of Sadat X, Lord Jamar and Grand Puba have just inked a new deal to fledging indy label Baby Grande. In the early 90’s the conscious crew released classics in “One For All” and “In God We Trust.” After the poorly received (but dope) “Everything is Everything” the crew split, only to return with “Foundation” in 1998.
“All of Brand Nubian’s albums are timeless works of art and their newest work continues in that tradition. It is truly an honor to work with a group that means so much to the hip-hop genre of music,” says Chuck Wilson of Babygrande.
Babygrande also plans to release solo albums with each of the member, starting with Lord Jamar in early 2005. Babygrande will celebrate the signing of Brand Nubian and the release of Jean Grae’s new album “The Bootleg of the Bootleg EP” in New York City at SOB’s on Tuesday, November 18th.
