It was going to be perfect, “The Black Album” on Black Friday, a special Friday, November 28th release only for the Jigga man. It looks like the tremendous anticipation for the album worked against him, and now much like Eminem and 50 Cent’s last albums, Jay-Z has pushed the release date forward.
The album will now be moved two weeks to November 14th. It was this Monday evening that Jay’s grand finale hit the Internet, and it didn’t take long for the word to circulate. You can read the first official review by yours truly here at HHDX.
In other news, Jay-Z’s lines at the end of “What More Can I Say” has apparently ruffled some feathers, but not who you would expect. “And no I ain’t got shot up a whole bunch a times/or make shit up in a whole bunch of rhymes/and I’m not animated like say a Busta Rhymes,” references to 50 Cent, Nas (presumably) and of course Busta, has left Busta upset. While it would seem that he isn’t insulting him, but merely pointing out his strongest selling point; Busta sent a freestyle to Kay Slay that was seemingly directed at Jay. Once the word circulated about the freestyle Busta went on Hot97 and said the rhyme wasn’t aimed at Jay, but Kay Slay wasn’t letting it slide and said Busta is lying.
