After 26.2 miles, Sean “P.Diddy” Combs completed the NY Marathon this Sunday. There is a little disagreement on the time P. Diddy took to run the race. Allhiphop reports 3 hours & 58 minutes, while MSN reports 4 hours, 14 minutes. As runner No. 30,792 — Puffy kept a respectable pace of an eight- to nine-minute miles for much of the race. “I feel great. I feel strong,” Combs told NBC Sports during the race’s first hour. “We’re right on pace. I’m not going to go out too hard. I’m going to finish strong.” He raised $2 million for the children of NYC.
Heads who got down with Chocolate Industries “Urban Renewal Project” last year are likely familiar with Diverse, most notably for his collabo with Mos Def and Prefuse 73 on “Wylin’ Out.” Tomorrow he will drop his debut “One A.M.” on the same label. If guest appearances from Mos Def, Jean Grae, Lyrics Born and Vast Aire aren’t enough to get you excited, how about 6 beats from Rjd2, and others from Madlib and Prefuse 73.
In other album news, DJ Fakts One, best known as Mr. Lif’s DJ and frequent producer, is readying his debut called “Long Range.” Look for contributions from indy heavyweights such as J-Live, Little Brother, Boot Camp Clik, Hiero, Cali Agents and of course, Lif and Akrobatik. Look for it in February…
