With the success of his latest mixtape Savage Journey to the American Dream and Maybach Music Group’s Self Made Vol. 2, rapper Stalley has managed to make the first half of 2012 a successful one. Now, the Ohio native is looking to extend his streak into 2013 with the release of his debut album.
During a recent interview with MTV, Stalley said that he’s looking to drop his MMG debut at the top of 2013. He said that he’s just begun recording the project, and that he’s been observing the examples set by MMG partners Rick Ross and Wale with regards to recording his debut album.
“We’re workin’ on an album right now,” he said. “I’m in the studio. I just got in there about a week ago, so it’s a whole big process. Right now, I’m thinking maybe top of the year would be the album.”
He continued, “I definitely just take [Rick Ross and Wale’s] energy, and I definitely watch their energy and watch how they do things. I’m very observant of how they set up their albums and set up their singles and things like that, being that it’s all new to me. That’s great company to keep and great people to watch.”
